Pack 47’s main fundraiser is the Trail’s End Popcorn Fundraiser held each year August through October.

The popcorn fundraiser is an opportunity for Scouts to raise money for the Pack while building social and sales skills. Pack 47 supports the Scouts by sponsoring several Show and Sells at local stores where Dens have the product on hand to sell immediately to customers.

The Popcorn Drive is a Council sponsored event and it is authorized for all members of scouting.  One third of the revenue goes to Trail’s End, one third to the CT Rivers Council and one third to either Pack 47 or your child (a third of the first $255 goes to the Pack, the third of anything above $255 goes to the cub’s camp account.)

One third of popcorn sales above the $255 mark will be applied towards the individual Scout’s camp account. This can directly defray the cost of summer camp.  A motivated Scout can pay for summer cub scout camp entirely by popcorn sales. A Scout selling approximately $850 can attend Day Camp at no cost for the parent and a Scout going to Webelos Resident Camp for 5 days would need to sell approximately $1,275 to pay for the overnight camp.

The minimum popcorn sale required per scout for the drive is $255 per scout.  A buy-out option is offered for $105. This is a mandatory event and it’s the parent’s choice to choose what fits for their family.  The Pack has determined this is the amount need to run the Pack. If you choose the buy-out, please remit the check to Pack 47 in the Popcorn envelope and write BUY-OUT across it with you Scout’s name. You can turn this in to your Den Leader at any time.

Each Scout will receive a patch or a pin of their choice and, depending on sales, a Scout can choose from a variety of prizes.

Remember safety when selling. Always go with a parent. Never enter a home. Always use your manners and wear your uniform correctly.
